  1. Corporations merely pass their taxes on to their customers. When there are three or more competitors, profit margins tend to stabilize. Each industry has a different profit margin, but they tend to remain constant. If coporations are taxed, they simply increase the retail price and maintain the same profit margin. If their customers won’t pay the extra money (like if there are foreign competitors that aren’t burdened with taxes), the companies will simply go out of business.

  2. Based on Mr. Burgener’s concise and accurate description of how Corporations deal with taxes, the only comment I’d like to add is that it may be the one “fair” way to tax the populace. No loop holes for either the rich or poor to avoid the payment. Granted, the poor will pay a larger portion of their wages but since they don’t pay income tax anyway (and in many cases they get a “tax” credit) the Government gets to recoup some of their money.

  3. Taxing corporations is only hurting the consumer, as Paul said, they just raise their prices.

This site is way too naive. We need to throw out all politicians currently in office and start fresh. And get rid of unions.

I read here that liberalism gets its spirit from equality and collective action. I’m all for equality in opportunity, an individuals results cannot be guaranteed. But the collection action part? Sounds communist to me. We need to support the constitution.

  4. Corporations don’t pay taxes, just like landlords don’t pay property taxes. It’s passed on to the consumer. SO… when “DaBamster” goes after more taxes from corporations it’s simply passed on to the consumer.

Economic policy of taxing the “big mean greedy corporations” ONLY makes it tougher on the “poor down-trodden little man”

  5. Naive is too naive a word to describe this web site or its proponents. Of course, corporations don’t pay taxes; only their customers do, as the cost MUST be incorporated into the price. This only makes our U.S. based companies less competitive globally and contributes to the rational economic decision to offshore production and workers to less costly locales. If the U.S. abolished all income and payroll taxes and moved to a broad based final consumption tax that was clearly identified in the cost of every purchase we would see a resurgence of economic growth that would turn the most ardent leftist into a freedom loving seeker of individual rights.

  6. Add my voice to the chorus.

Whoever runs this website has obviously never managed a business in their life.
